Localised hot-repair and gunning can often be done without a full cold-down; full relining needs the equipment cold.
5–14 days for a furnace, depending on zone count and lining type; boiler refractory work is scoped as part of a shutdown.
Sometimes — repeat failure in the same zone can point to a combustion or thermal cycling issue worth investigating rather than just relining again.
