Used & Refurbished Equipment

Boiler Refurbishment

Restore an existing boiler to working condition instead of buying new.

Pressure parts, refractory, mountings and controls all age at different rates. Refurbishment brings a used or ageing boiler back to a working, warrantied condition — a fraction of the cost of a new unit where the shell and pressure parts still have life in them.

What’s included

  • Pressure-part refurbishment — tube replacement, header repair, expansion/welding work
  • Refractory, insulation and cladding replacement
  • Burner and grate refurbishment
  • Economiser, superheater and air-preheater refurbishment
  • Boiler mountings, valve and gauge replacement
  • Structural repairs, and painting / protective coating

Frequently asked

A condition assessment first — if the pressure parts and shell have enough remaining life, refurbishment is usually cheaper than replacement; if not, we'll say so before scoping any work.

Where the boiler is relocating or ownership is changing, yes — support for the re-registration process is part of the scope.

3–6 weeks for a moderate scope; a full pressure-part and refractory rebuild runs longer, confirmed after the condition assessment.
